MUSSELS, ROCK: Neva Dinova

A few years back while I was at Emo's to see Tim Kasher's band The Good Life, I was introduced to Neva Dinova. I was 18 at the time so I didn't know it wasn't cool to get there early to check out all the bands playing. I remember joking with a friend about some guy because of the way he was dressed and how he didn't fit in with the rest of the crowd (what a little asshole I was, right?). Well, it turned out that "loser" was Jake Bellows, the lead singer and guitarist for Neva Dinova. To say the least, I was blown away by the performance then, and they still continue to blow me away every time they play. Their new album just came out last month and I highly suggest going and getting it. It's called "You May Already Be Dreaming". They will be playing on Friday at Emo's with Ladyhawk(also worth checking out). They will also be playing an in-store the next day at End of an Ear at 1 P.M.
